We all have those days where someone says something or does something and we were begin to think we’re not enough. Isn’t it funny how one comment from a somebody (who’s really a nobody) can make us feel like a nobody ourselves? Then there are those of us who were raised in homes being reminded daily in which ways were not enough (raised hand!) or maybe we married into it (raised hand, again!). Maybe you’re new to the feeling of not being enough. Speaking from experience,  after being reminded on a regular basis the ways I was not enough I began to start thinking about it. Mulling it around in our heads over and over and over again, then we begin to believe it! We look in the mirror and we no longer see ourselves. We see a reflection of lies…………
I’m not thin enough
I’m not pretty enough.
I don’t dress in the right labels
I don’t have the right car
I don’t have the right education
I don’t have the right job
I’m not strong enough.
I’m not  resilient enough
I don’t have the right bank account
I don’t live in the right house
I am not a good enough parent
I know far too many women who fall in the “not enough” category. Sometimes this isn’t brought on by being told, maybe you’re one of the many who just happens to watch a show, read a book or magazine and has decided on your own that you are not enough. Well, a comparison is the main culprit in joy stealing (for real Y’all!)  There are so many ways we as women feel as though we fall short in an area, making us feel as though we’re not enough.
Regardless, of how you became one of us. One of the “not enough”  ones.
I say this……….. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!
I have great news for you. Yes, really seriously great news for YOU!
Those are lies straight from the pit of hell from Satan the father of all lies.  In John 8:44 it tells us this    “TYe are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar and the father of it.”
I am the mother of three daughters, ages, seventeen, fifteen (this month) and ten (this month). I sometimes see the “not enough” mentality start rising up in them and like any praying mom out there. I take my prayer and slap Satan upside his ugly rearing head and send him back to the pit of hell where he belongs. I refuse to let him make my daughters who belong to Christ feel less than all God has created them to be.
If we as women feel less than, under par, not enough. We are hindered in carrying out our godly duties as mothers, wives, friends, daughters, and sisters. All those lies we believe from our fathers, husbands, friends, boyfriends, and society are just that lies, lies and yes you got it more LIES!
You, yes YOU my darling dear friend reading this right now, where you are, the weight you are, in the job you are in, driving what you have, attending a school where you are, living where you are  YOU ARE ENOUGH!  In our heavenly father’s eyes, he created you, one of a kind, a masterpiece, uniquely and wonderfully perfect JUST AS YOU ARE!  He does not say, I’ll love you if you lose weight, I’ll love you if you change your hair, I’ll love you if you make more money he says “I made you, I love you, just as you are!”
Here are a few scriptures that will completely back what I am telling you. The lesson it took me almost forty years to learn….. All summed up in a few scriptures.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” –Psalm 139:14

“‘You are my witnesses,’ declares the Lord, ‘and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he’”.  Isaiah 43:10

“I  have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine” Isaiah 43:1

“See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands” Isaiah 49:16

“You are precious and honored in my sight, and . . . I love you” Isaiah 43:4

And a few  of my favorites

“You are a chosen [woman], a royal [priest], a holy [daughter], God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light” 1 Peter 2:9

“The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights” Habakkuk  3:19

and of course

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10

Print, memorize and keep the scriptures close. The next time you feel less than, under par, not enough remember these scriptures. Let Satan know not only who you are, but more importantly WHOS YOU ARE!

Stayed prayed and caffeinated up,
